I just attended the first of 9 monthly three day lecture and surgical sessions in the Comprehensive Implant Residency Program (CIRP) at The Foundry Dental Center in Bessemer Alabama.

Last November I reported that I had attended the Alabama Implant Education program. That was a one week intensive program to introduce surgical implants to the general dentists' practice. In January we brought Dr. Michael McCracken, an instructor from the Alabama program, to the office to work with us while we placed our first implants and help us set up our protocols. We are excited about the success of our first implants! However, there is still much to be learned about this tremendous procedure.

My goal while attending this nearly yearlong program is to be able to provide more implant care for our patients at home.

While we benefit from and enjoy working with the highly trained specialists we refer to, many of our patients would choose to do their full treatment at our office if at all possible. This program will provide me training and experience for many of those patients we would have had to refer to the specialist before.

I'm looking forward to sharing all that I've learned over the next nine months. Please feel free to ask me questions about it when you come in for your check-ups or via email at info@mccreadds.com.
